Doppler ultrasonography is a procedure that allows to examine speed of blood flow in the main vessels (arteries and veins), to observe presence of atherosclerosis plaques and mural thromboses, vasoconstriction, disturbed circulation in head and neck vessels, which lead to osteochondrosis progression. It is used also to detect asthenia, faintness, visual impairment and tinnitus causes; as a preventive measure of vascular malformations and its detection with early stage.

Head and neck vessels doppler ultrasonography includes examination carotid, subclavian and vertebral arteries. Vertebral arteries examination is needed in case of faintness, shaky walk, seeing spots during bands or abrupt get up, heaviness in the head, etc.Visit a physician and vessels examination in time ensure you preventing cerebrovascular disease progression, duplex scanning.

Head and neck vessels doppler ultrasonography is carried out in the presence of the following indications:

  • Chronic headache

  • Faintness

  • Apsychia

  • Memory and alertness impairment

  • Rapid fatigability

  • Dystaxia

  • Parasomnia

  • Elevated blood pressure (incl. renal arteries doppler)

  • Neurological disorders

  • Neck pains

  • After cerebranial injuries, strokes and transitory ischaemic attacks

  • Suspected brain tumor

Limbs vessels Doppler, generally places on emergence of arteries or legs veins diseases symptoms. Legs vessels doppler ultrasonography is recommended for patients with heavy legs, legs pain, walking fatigue, legs tingling feeling, feet hypersensibility to cold, in case of shins skin chancres (long non-healing defects of skin), and also in case of legs hydrops, under the skin visible venous distensibility (varicosity) and in some other cases. Doppler ultrasonography doesn’t require any special preparations.
