The Republican Specialized Scientific Practical Medical Center of Therapy and Medical Rehabilitation (RSSPMCTRMR) continues to strengthen its role as a leader in cardiovascular science and innovation. Within the framework of the PRIM 01-28 grant project, funded by the World Bank Group, our Center is actively implementing modern approaches to research, education, and patient care.
From 14 to 17 August 2025, the Head of the Rehabilitation Laboratory, Scientific Manager of the PRIM project - PhD Jamol Uzokov, and PRIM project researcher - PhD Bakhodir Nigmonov represented Uzbekistan at the 73rd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) and the 49th Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR) in Brisbane. Their participation aimed to present our Center’s latest findings, exchange experience with global experts, and foster partnerships to advance institutional modernization.
Two PRIM-supported studies were presented. The oral presentation, “Efficacy of Diet with Low Glycemic Index on Clinical Biomarkers in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease,” showed significant improvements in glycemic control, lipid profile, and systemic inflammation in post-PCI patients. The poster presentation, “The Role of AI for the Diagnosis of Ischaemic Changes on Electrocardiogram,” introduced an innovative algorithm for early ECG-based ischemia detection, drawing interest from digital health experts and industry.
Beyond scientific dissemination, meetings with the University of Queensland, Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, and New Zealand researchers resulted in interests for both sides for joint studies and future grant collaborations. Knowledge gained on precision medicine, AI, and rehabilitation will directly inform our modernization plans.
Participation in CSANZ and ISHR 2025 confirms the international relevance of Uzbekistan’s cardiovascular research and supports our mission to improve patient care and scientific innovation.
